“The Buddy” arose from a need. While the algorithm behind “The Buddy” is deep, complex and mind-bending, the need was simple; a low hype, non-fanfare, consistent and resilient autotrader. While there are many who claim to have the unique insight and abilities to craft such an autotrader,“The Buddy” came into existence with the assistance of two outstanding engineers. It is not known if these two engineers are MDs or PhDs, but BollingerBuddy has dubbed them both as “Dr”. As you might well imagine, algorithmic trading is not for all traders. Notwithstanding, with the correct and tempered expectations firmly in place and diligently maintained, it could very well be a good thing. A beautiful thing. Your AutoTrader strategy is a helper to you and thus you must know the workings of the autotrader. You must take ownership of the autotrader’s behavior. “THE BUDDY” is NOT a set-it-and-forget-it robot. You need to be there with it, to manage it. “THE BUDDY” should work with you, NOT FOR YOU. “The Buddy” works well in trending markets that have good volume. “The Buddy” does not work well in choppy markets and will incur losses. Therefore you are responsible to step through your “pre-flight” checklist BEFORE you enable “The Buddy” on a chart. With a proven set of rules and standards to follow, we believe “The Buddy” may offer you an edge in achieving trades that will be high probability.
